Hymenoplasty
Hymenoplasty is a surgical procedure to reconstruct or repair the hymen, the thin membrane partially covering the vaginal opening. It is usually performed for cultural, personal, or psychological reasons.
Purpose / Indications:

Restore hymenal tissue for cultural or social reasons

Repair hymen after injury or accidental tearing

Occasionally for medical reasons after trauma
Procedure:

Usually done under local or general anesthesia

Edges of the remaining hymenal tissue are stitched together

In some cases, biodegradable materials are used to reconstruct the membrane
